On the last day of its 12 days of OpenAI, a holiday-themed campaign in which OpenAI livestreams a new demo or product launch every day, OpenAI is rumored to be dropping an o3 model, with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posting a cryptic X post that revealed the clue, “oh oh oh.”
A report from The Information said that OpenAI is prepping its next-generation o1 models, according to two people familiar with the matter. If you are wondering what happened to o2, the report suggests that due to potential copyright conflicts with O2, a British telecommunications service provider, OpenAI will skip to o3.

Although details on what the model can do have not been revealed, as the name implies, it would be an improved version of o3 in every way, with even more advanced reasoning and likely quicker speeds. The full version of o1 was just launched last week for all ChatGPT Plus and now Pro users. As a new model launches today, it is possible that accessibility to the full version of o1 expands.
How to watch 12 Days of OpenAI
To watch the last day of the live streams, you can tune into OpenAI’s 12 Days of OpenAI page. The livestream will start at approximately 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. To make access easier, OpenAI will also post a link to the livestream on its X account 10 minutes before it starts.

If you can’t tune in, the livestream will be posted to its YouTube channel immediately after the event. ZDNET will also update its 12 Days of OpenAI roundup shortly after the event, where you can find not only today’s release but also the past 11 days’ worth.
